During November and December, students at Pioneer Middle School participated in the annual St. Jude Mathathon which was co-chaired this year by Mrs. Daien and Mrs. Burdette and supported in all math classes. Students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades completed online funbooks of math problems and asked for pledges from close family and friends. These donations will go to support cancer research and pay for necessary medical treatments for children with cancer or other life threatening illnesses. This year, Pioneer had an impressive turnout.
In August 2013, the Board of Education charged district administration to review district boundaries and to offer a recommendation so that newly drawn boundaries would be in place for the 2015-2016 school year, concurrent with the opening of our replacement middle school.
